Friday Favorites, September 9, 2011

September has been such an amazing month for me, and I am looking forward to the journey ahead.  I received an amazing email this evening from the owner of my new house, it appears that we came into each other's lives at the perfect time.  We share the same taste, and she has confidence in my taking care of the home she built. I found out last week that my closing date would be scheduled no later than September 30th, and after that the process took off.  My home inspection was completed within 24 hours, my appraisal will be complete tomorrow, and it appears that closing will be earlier than we thought. VERY EXCITING!!

After my post last Friday, I was offered the transfer position I had requested with the company. I have 5 more work days (6 counting the OT I am taking advantage of on Saturday) in Auto Claim Central, a 5 day vacation, and then I begin my training in the Claims Retention Unit.  I am looking forward to a new challenge in my career, and continuing to expand on my claim knowledge!!  I met a few of my team members today, and my new department is directly behind the conference room which we use for our POWERtalk meetings (Kudos for no more hiking across the building in 6 inch heels)!!

I have been working tirelessly on my "Positive Strategies" workshop for Regional Council on October 22nd.  It has been a life changing experience for me.  I have literally gone back to my childhood in order to search deep inside myself for the things which make me happy & to find my purpose in life.  I have been making the changes which I feel are necessary to ensure my happiness each and every day!!  I cannot recommend Jon Gordon's books enough, the have turned my thought process around, and have contributed to my attitude each and every day.  Today I gave a condensed version of my speech to work out timing, touch points, and delivery. It went very well, and I have a wonderful support team in my club who I can rely on for feedback and encouragement!

What lies ahead for me, I don't know and I honestly do not care.  I am enjoying the mystery of the unknown, which is a learning process for someone who plans every aspect of my life.  Next week I am heading to Indianapolis for vacation, I am looking forward to quality time surrounded by my very best friends!!  When I return from vacation, it will be a brand new year!!

This weeks has been such an amazing week! The New Moon on Sunday brought peace & happiness into my life, and I feel as though there is not anything or anyone who can bring me down. I am gearing up for a new year, in 19 days, and I am looking forward to a clean slate in my life! I have acknowledged the mistakes which I have made in my past & I am putting them behind me. With the new moon has come new opportunities in my career, I will be setting out on a new journey in Bodily Injury claims in a few short weeks! I am very excited to take on a new challenge at this time! I am also working diligently on my workshop presentation for POWERtalk International Regional Conference on October 22, 2011, while I am also working on the book I am writing.  What I am looking forward to the most, is my vacation in a couple of weeks!! It is going to be a wonderful time to get away!!  I am also looking forward to moving in to my new home, I spent four hours there this evening learning EVERYTHING that I will need to know to be a remarkable homeowner!! =-}  My favorites are short & sweet this week, but they are big favorites!!

Friday Favorites

My journey of enlightenment and self understanding has been a great experience so far, I still have some concerns to work through, but I feel more like myself than I have in quite a while.  I am learning that regrets are not a bad thing, if you learn a lesson from them & apply it to your life moving forward.  In my reflection & meditation, I have found many areas of my life where I would have chosen a different path.  The path I chose, led me to where I am today, so it is not a bad thing.    One of the benefits that I stumbled across is my ability & desire to write, so I am stealing an idea from one of my favorite websites and posting Friday Favorites, a summary of all of the things I LOVE about the week!  This is just the beginning of good things to come...I hope you enjoy it!!

The Summary

Summary

You need a rest, dear Virgo. If you don't stop now, you may be sorry, for you will soon enter a frenetic period beginning mid-November, almost unprecedented in the coming level of activity. This all means you won't stop until mid-2012. While you can, take a rest now, and if possible, allow yourself some moments of pampering this month.

The new moon that occurred July 30 will help you clear the decks in early August - once you do, you will be able to slack off a little. Virgo gets the most satisfaction from being productive and hard working, so this is a new concept for you. Pulling back is often hard for you to do, and once you go on a vacation, it could take five or six days just to get into the rhythm of it. Trust that everyone needs a little down time, including you!

Mercury, your ruling planet, will be retrograde from August 2 to 26, ensuring that you CAN take time off, for you can be assured that nothing of major importance will take place now.

The quiet spell will be broken for a few days when a work project will be due at the full moon, August 13, plus or minus four days. With Saturn so beautifully angled, you are likely to impress a VIP and gain praise for work well done.

This same point in the month, near August 12, may also be a time you are thinking a lot about your health. You may want to make a time for a routine medical and dental checkup. If you have been going through physical therapy or rehab, or undergoing a series of medical procedures, it may now be coming to an end. Again, Saturn's position points to a positive outcome.

A series of cosmic storms will pass through mid-month, from August 9 to August 17. Mars and Uranus will have a shouting match on August 9, and Mars and Pluto will trade angry insults on August 11. On August 17, the moon will be unstable, linking to Uranus and opposing Saturn. Mars will reach the precise degree of the July 1 eclipse, August 16-17, adding a great deal of tension. Mars will be an instigator, and because Mars rules your eighth house of credit, your money may suddenly go through several gyrations. Be very cautious about monetary decisions you make in mid-month. Fortunately, this phase will pass fairly quickly.

The most brilliant moment of the month will come at your annual new moon in Virgo, August 28, and will be special in every respect. With a golden triangle that will link the Sun, new moon, and Venus in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus, and Pluto in Capricorn - all earth signs - you will be in your element and experience a rare, benefic time to see your deepest dreams come true, dear Virgo. This represents out-of-this world support, a perfect time to materialize a desire dearly important to you.

Romance and distant travel will go together like cup and saucer in the last week of August, so if you can get a chance to go away, do. You'll enjoy kicking back and enjoying yourself! Alternatively, if you are due to start a college or grad school semester, you are likely to findÿall the courses you want available and the subject matter absorbing and important for your future.

Venus will be in Virgo from August 21 to September 14, so during this phase, your charm will be quite hypnotic and you'll be unstoppable. This would be an ideal time to book a salon visit and to investigate the newest fashion items and makeup. You'd get many compliments, especially if you shop after Mercury goes direct, from August 26 on.

What a perfect setting the cosmos has arranged to celebrate your birthday, dear Virgo!

Virgo Dates to Note

You need rest during the first ten days of August, so if you can take a relaxing vacation at that time, it would do you a world of good. If you cannot get away, don't overload your schedule.

Your most romantic dates will be August 1, 2, 4, 5, 15, 18-20, and 28-29.

Saturn's lovely beam to the Sun, August 4, should stabilize your home life.

Mars in Cancer will send Jupiter in Taurus a lovely beam, making travel outstanding on August 18.

You will be finishing a major project mid-month at the full moon, August 13.

Protect your health - you may feel under strain, especially near August 13 plus or minus four days.

Mars will enliven your social life nicely from August 3 to September 18, especially if you go with friends or go to see friends.

Watch for a possible change in a friendship on August 16-17. Tread carefully.

Travel and study will be absolutely heavenly at the new moon August 28 plus two weeks. Start out this month.

Romance will be enhanced with any journeys that you take in the last week.

If you are starting or continuing college or grad school this month, this year's study will be special to you now and in the future.

Mercury will be retrograde August 2 to 26.

Virgo's August Horoscope for 2001 by Susan Miller...So dead on for me!!

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Your August Horoscope by Susan Miller

Virgo Horoscope for August 2011

By Susan Miller

This will be a very quiet month for several reasons. The first reason is that the new moon of July 30, which appeared just two days before the start of August, lit your twelfth house of meditation, opening the door to several weeks of strategic thinking. With the Sun moving through your twelfth house (the last house of the horoscope), it's not a time for assertive action, but rather, a time of reflection and planning.

To quote Socrates, "The unexamined life is not worth living." The ancient astrologers agreed and felt the best time to go deep within yourself was when the Sun passed through the twelfth house, as it is for you now. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is currently in your ninth house, a place in the chart associated with philosophy, theology, and metaphysics, and the place of the chart where we meditate about the meaning of life and our place in it. If you seek answers now, Jupiter is in a position to help you find them.

There is another reason life will have a slow pace this month. Your ruler, Mercury, will be retrograde from August 2 to 26, so it's clear nothing of vital importance will take place in the coming four weeks. Do not call or press for answers from higher ups or clients - wait. Patience will benefit you in August. Things are now in flux, but at this point it is not possible to know precisely which direction things are headed. Any decision you make now will likely have to be tempered or completely reversed later. For that reason, astrologers know never to sign a contact with Mercury retrograde, and also it is not wise to buy electronic items or appliances, nor any other expensive things like jewelry, an automobile, or furniture. Wait until September for best results - otherwise you will regret the purchase you make now.

Mars will be circulating in your friendship sector, so in the background of your subdued, slower-pace movements in August, you still will be around many of your friends. They will have plenty of plans for you, and this light and graceful trend will last until September 18. After that, you may be happy to tone down your social life, rest a bit and focus more on your career.

You had a lot on your plate lately, for past weeks brought huge changes through three eclipses. Eclipses are the most dramatic tool the universe uses to affect change and to evolve us to a new level of maturity and enlightenment. The solar eclipse on June 1 brought good news and opportunities to your career. The second - a total eclipse of the moon - on June 15 brought you changes to your home environment or involving a parent or other close family member. You may have moved or changed the look of your home, or a parent may have needed your help. Then, just two weeks after that, on July 1, a third eclipse came by, and you may have experienced more changes, this time in regard to a certain friend.

In regard to the July 1 eclipse, if you did not get any news about a friendship (see my last month's forecast for a full report on that eclipse), you may still hear news on August 16-17 when Mars travels over the exact degree of that eclipse at 9 degrees Cancer. Keep your eye on those dates, as August 16-17 may turn out to be very significant.

Mars will be chatting with other planets this month, but sometimes his interactions will be gracious and at other times, difficult. Let's list the three difficult ones first.

On Monday, August 8, Mars will act up, and pick a fight with volatile Uranus, causing unexpected financial gyrations for you. Do not choose this day for a presentation or discussion / negotiation about money! Watch out for identity theft, too.

Thursday, August 11, won't be much better. This time Mars will box with Pluto and the outcome may be that that a person you care about and partner with will come on much too strong. Your automatic reaction may be to push back just as hard, but you have to see if that's the best response. Mars opposed to Pluto is quite powerful. Try to keep in control - without "losing it!"

August 25 brings the last clash between Mars and another planet - this time Mars will create problems with Saturn. Saturn's currently in your financial resources sector, so you may need to beg off going to a social event you wanted to attend, or delay buying something because you realize it's just too expensive. It won't always be this way, dear Virgo, just now.

Now, on the flip side, on Thursday, August 18, let's look at a very upbeat, happy meeting of Mars with Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. If you will able to travel on this day, do. It would go so well. Perhaps you can take a long weekend, from August 18-21. Travel, if you can, with one or more friends. What a lovely day this will be! Can't travel? News from afar will be happy too, so check your email. You will find all good news.

Now let's look at the full moon, August 13, which will fall in Aquarius, 21 degrees, in your sixth house of work projects. Until now, you seem to have a slow, happy month, dotted with friends and time to think and unwind a bit from last month. This full moon is going to quicken the pace, when a major project is due, or you may hear that a trusted worker, such as your assistant or nanny, will soon depart.

Keep your health up to par near this full moon August 13, as your resistance may be low or you may simply be tired and in need of rest.

If you have been going through a special series of health procedures, such as physical therapy or other prescribed course of action for your heath, it is likely to end at this time, with good results! Saturn will be friendly, so chances are, you'll like the long-lasting, stable results. Due to the placement of Neptune, be careful of new medicines that you are to begin taking. Ask about possible side effects before you take them, but if you and your doctor are OK with the risk-reward ratio, go right ahead.

Your very best part of the month will occur at the new moon in Virgo, 5 degrees, August 28. This is one of the best new moons you've seen in years, and because it is so positive, it has the power to brighten your entire year ahead. Indeed, all new moons stay in effect until the next new moon has time to come and refresh the former one, a year from now. This year's new moon in Virgo is so spectacular it will be hard to match in any year.

What makes this year's new moon special is that, when it appears, it will be in perfect angle to Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, now positioned in your ninth house, ruling long distance travel, higher education, and publishing / broadcasting media. All these areas will shine for you. But wait - there's more.

Both Jupiter and the new moon will be in perfect mathematical position to Pluto, planet of regeneration and financial success, now in your house of creativity and artistic expression. Something you're working on now is about to lift off beautifully and could bring you substantial profits.

I was thinking about your birthday, dear Virgo, and I thought I would add that if you are planning a birthday party for yourself, I have ideas of when you might want to give your gathering. After all, as I mentioned earlier, you will have Mars jazzing things up in your friendship sector all month and during most of September. Here are my suggestions.

The weekend of September 17-18 next month looks hot. If you are attached, then you might rather choose the weekend of September 10-11, for that one will bring an enthusiastic response from your partner, and it will coincide with the harvest moon, a full moon in your partnership / marriage sector.

If your birthday falls later this month, in August, you may want to plan to celebrate on the glorious new moon weekend of August 27-28, which I will describe in detail next. Wait until you see how special it is!

This new moon August 28 is extraordinary because of the awesome amount of cosmic support you will have behind you. It may be the perfect time to travel for business or pleasure, but it will also be a time to start making an international relationship official (say, if you begin working together on a project). Your creativity will be lauded and overall, the relationship will be a happy one. Keep in mind that Mercury will no longer be retrograde by the time this new moon of August 28 appears (Mercury will turn August 26), so you will have an open road. Are you going back to college as an undergraduate or graduate student for the next semester? This semester seems more important than any other, and you will enjoy the classes you take - and will do well.

This new moon will be doubly strong for you if your birthday falls on or near August 28, or if you have planets within five degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius in your natal chart, or have these signs / degrees rising. The fact that you have a fantastic new moon on or near your birthday means that the whole coming year will be bathed in golden light. It truly is fortunate, and getting a new moon to coincide with your birthday is rare, not commonplace. You are looking at a year filled with new opportunity, for you are beginning a new chapter. You have a lot to be excited about!

With so much of the universe behind you, I would not be surprised to hear that even love may flourish for you in August. On August 30, Venus in Virgo will reach out to Jupiter in Taurus, and you will have a wow of a day for money and all ninth house activities just listed - travel, education, the media, even legal settlements. You may want to travel with the one you love, and if so, the end of August will be just divine.

Your most romantic dates will be August 1, 2, 4, 5, 15, 18-20, and 28-29.
